Hazel Hall Gardens Masterplan

Grand garden designs

Designing multiple gardens for one home

THE DESIGN

Hazel Hall had three distinctive gardens – a potager, terrace and meadow.

The brief was to design all three in a way that was sympathetic to each space’s purpose, while at the same creating a cohesive design fit for this historic home.

POTAGER

This was about reclaiming the garden closest to the kitchen.

Bathed in sunlight, sheltered by walls, using edible planting to reinstate this potager garden was the natural choice.

TERRACE AND MEADOW

Connecting two vast spaces was the creative challenge here.

Both gardens had distinctive characteristics - an important element to retain. Water features were my answer to creating harmony between the two.
