Victor Road Back Garden

Low cost without compromise

Beautifying what was already there

THE DESIGN

The brief was to breathe new life into this garden on a budget.

Boosting existing borders, rehoming rather than removing a log store, rationalising existing pot planting, I was able to work with what was already there, upgrading the space on a tight budget. Though cost-effective, this simple design footprint did not compromise when it came to aesthetics.

PLANTING

Additional shrubs to bulk out the existing border shrubs, foregrounded by cottage-style perennials.

One summer wild bulb infused lawn and another low maintenance lush wildflower turf lawn. Fragrant lavender dividers between lawns.

Carefully selected statement specimen shrub to replace the rehomed log store with something eye-catching.

STRUCTURES

A new trellis designed for long-term growing of climbers.

Log store relocation, retaining the structure to make use of the space.

A patio with a simple footprint and retaining wall design that was sensitive to the budget.
